After playing as part of a steel band for 5 years, Allison Marquis became a pan soloist and took up an interest in Jazz in 1983; which led to him playing with the group Third Eye. He has performed at the Barbados, Martinique and Guadeloupe Jazz Festivals, with the likes of Andy Narell, the Bernard Brothers, the Caribbean Jazz Workshop Group and the late Claude Sommier. Typically described as a mild-mannered gentleman, Marquis plays a mean pan and is no stranger to the main stage setting of Saint Lucia Jazz. He collaborated with Monty Maxwell and Harvey Millar for the 2010 Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. His own group, Eclectic Pan Jazz, performed at the Festival in 2009 and 2011. He has recorded with Emerson Nurse, the late Adrian Clarke of Barbados and Michael Boothman of Trinidad and Tobago.
