Zack Popo

Guitarist

Born and raised on the island of St.Lucia Zack Popo began his love affair with the guitar at 5 years old. Young Zack continued to sharpen his skill by practicing daily on the guitar his father had in the home. Later Zack would comment, "I'm so blessed that my father had the guitar laying around the house." The joy that playing the guitar gives me is immeasurable. I couldn't imagine my life without it.

As Zack grew older he began to build on his own natural guitar skills with 3 years Classical Guitar training at the prestigious Sainat Lucia School of Music. He included master classes with legendary guitar greats Earl Klugh, Stanley Jirdan, Hiram Bullock and Kenny Burrel.

With the open road calling Zack found himself playing at pretigious venues such as the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival with greats like Luther Vandross. Zack has also shared teh stage with Cosby Show musical star Malcolm Jamal Warner and Havana Casino, and Jamaican Guitar giant Morris Gordon. His travels took him stateside to open for the Miami Mass Choir. While in Miami the word quickly spread about Zack's guitar versatility, soon marking him an in demand guitarist for a host of well known bands in the area.

Session recording work has also become an inevitable addition to Zack's recording schedule. Due to his reputation for being a versatile session guitatirst Zack has been featured on scores of both hometown and stateside recording sessions. Thos esessions included a variety of musical genres, including gospel, jazz, blues and R&B. Zack also recorded with the well known Saint Lucian Band Blue Mango in 2004.

Currently Zack is featured nightly as prinicipal rhythm and lead guitarist in the band "Cold Sweat". Zack and Cold Sweat have been playing to enthusiastic and appreciative crowds at the popular hot spot Jambase at the Mina A Salam Hotel in Dubai UAE since 2004. His future goal is to continue to use his talent versatility and preofessionalism to make a significant contribution to a group of like-minded musicians.
