Lydia Theobalds

Costume Designer and Choreographer

Her first love is dancing. Lydia was groomed as a dancer from an early age and danced for several years traveling the Caribbean with the National Dance Group-Dance ensemble.

She extended her talent to acting when she performed in well-known stage plays Still We Rise and Hewanorra Story. In 1981 she won the coveted Carnival Queen title, one which she has carried gracefully to this day.

She started her singing career with the group Colors and provided vocal accompaniment for several years in the local calypso arena as well as to regional calypso giants like Gypsy, Shadow and Chalkdust.

Lydiah's rich sultry tones and classic beauty are timeless and set her apart as a woman of soul.
